Veterans, service members, caregivers, surviving spouses, and family members can use this directory to locate assistance throughout Los Angeles County and beyond. Resources are organized by area of need to make help easier to find.

Emergency & Crisis Assistance

Life-Threatening Emergencies​

If a veteran or anyone nearby is in immediate danger, call 911. Tell the dispatcher that the individual is a veteran and describe any known mental health or medical concerns.

 

​Veterans Crisis Line

Free, confidential crisis support for veterans, service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and those who support them.

Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Important note: Text messages should be sent to —not to 988.

Housing & Homelessness Assistance

Los Angeles County Department of Military and Veterans Affairs

Homeless Services Division

Assists veterans experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their housing. Services may include outreach, housing navigation, benefits assistance, and connections to community programs.

 

National Call Center for Homeless Veterans

Connects veterans experiencing homelessness—or those at imminent risk—with trained counselors and nearby VA services. Free, confidential, and available 24/7.

 

VA Greater Los Angeles Temporary Housing Hotline

Provides referrals to temporary housing programs for eligible veterans.

 

West Los Angeles VA Welcome Center

Veterans experiencing homelessness or housing instability may meet with a VA social worker, receive a health screening, and obtain referrals for temporary housing, employment, legal assistance, and other supportive services.
