23rd Annual Compton

Veterans Stand Down

Honoring All Who Served

A Community United in Service

For more than twenty-three years, the Compton Veterans Stand Down has brought together government agencies, healthcare providers, nonprofit organizations, businesses, volunteers, and community leaders to honor those who served our nation by providing direct access to essential services, resources, and compassionate support.

Organized through a collaborative partnership led by For the Love of Our Veterans, together with the Compton Chamber of Commerce and numerous public and private organizations, the Stand Down has become one of Southern California's longest-running and most respected veteran outreach events.

Whether a veteran needs healthcare, housing assistance, employment resources, legal guidance, or simply the support of a grateful community, the Compton Veterans Stand Down is designed to connect veterans with the services they have earned through their service and sacrifice.

Community Partnerships

The Compton Veterans Stand Down succeeds because of the collaboration of organizations throughout Southern California.

Participating organizations have included:

  • U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

  • Veterans Health Administration

  • Veteran Peer Access Network (VPAN)

  • AMVETS

  • American Red Cross

  • Workforce Development Organizations

  • Healthcare Providers

and many additional partners serving veterans throughout Los Angeles County.

Volunteers Make It Possible

Hundreds of volunteers contribute each year to make the Stand Down possible.

Whether assisting with registration, serving meals, coordinating logistics, distributing supplies, or helping veterans navigate available services, volunteers play an essential role in creating a welcoming and supportive experience.

Volunteer opportunities will be announced as the event approaches.

America 250

The 2026 Stand Down carries special significance as our nation commemorates the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America.

As America reflects on two and a half centuries of freedom and opportunity, we also recognize the generations of service members whose dedication and sacrifice have helped preserve those ideals.

This year's event serves not only as a resource fair, but also as a community expression of gratitude to the men and women whose service has strengthened our nation.
